Independent Viking service · Boston
Professional ranges,city kitchens,one trade.
Viking ranges, wall ovens, refrigeration and dishwashers across Boston proper — the Seaport towers, the triple-deckers in Eastie and Southie, and the hill streets in Charlestown. Diagnosis on site, priced before anything is opened up.
A 36-inch range in a room that was laid out for a 30-inch stove is the most common thing we walk into. It changes clearances, it changes ventilation, and it changes what a fault actually means.

Where we work
Four parts of the city, four different jobs
Seaport District 02210
The Seaport is almost entirely new construction plus converted Fort Point wool warehouses, so kitchens are open-plan and built straight into the living space. Getting to one means a freight elevator, dock hours and a building manager rather than a driveway.
Booked freight lifts and dock hours, panel-ready appliances in open-plan rooms, and a building manager who needs to know a contractor is coming. Access is planned before the visit, not on arrival.
- East Boston 02128 East Boston is largely early-1900s triple-deckers on Eagle Hill and Jeffries Point, with new harbourfront buildings along the water. Kitchen updates in the older stock keep the original room, so a 30-inch range has to fit an opening that was never sized for one.
- Charlestown 02129 Colonial and Federal houses around Monument Square and Main Street, plus loft conversions in the old Navy Yard. The hill streets are steep and narrow, and the waterfront buildings keep their kitchens upstairs behind a single service lift.
- South Boston 02127 Three-deckers and two-families run from Andrew Square out to City Point, with newer condominium blocks along the waterfront. Kitchens in the older stock are compact, and a professional range often goes in where a much smaller stove stood.
How this works
Three things that do not change
-
Diagnosis before a price
The flat $95 call covers the visit and a full diagnosis. A repair price comes out of what the readings say, and it is given before the first part is ordered.
-
City access, planned in advance
Freight lifts, dock hours, resident permits and a stair turn that will not take a 36-inch chassis. We ask about all of it on the phone rather than discovering it at the kerb.
-
Independent, and clear about it
No affiliation with the manufacturer. Factory-approved parts where they exist for the model, and an honest answer when a cabinet is not worth the repair.

The upper rack came out dry but still soiled every single run, whatever we tried. The feed to the top spray arm had scaled almost shut and the bearing was worn through. Both replaced, and the top load actually washes clean now. He explained how the scale builds.

Our tower needs the freight lift booked and building paperwork cleared before anyone works in a unit. All handled ahead of time, and the griddle heating on one side only came down to a failed igniter.

The interior lamp stayed on with the door shut, which is why the cabinet kept warming. A door switch had failed closed. Quick fix, and he checked both compartments after.

Faults written up after the call
What the symptom usually turns out to be, what is worth checking yourself, and the point where it becomes a gas or a sealed-system job.
- Viking Ignition Faults in Boston: Spark, Gas or Something Wet A Viking burner that clicks without lighting is usually mechanical rather than electrical — a cap sitting proud, a blocked port, or moisture left across the electrode after cleaning. If you can smell gas and it does not clear, leave the building and call the utility first. July 25, 2026 · 7 min read
- Why a Boston Viking Dishwasher Leaves Water After Every Cycle Standing water at the end of a Viking cycle is usually a blocked filter or a drain path that was set up wrong on installation day — a missing disposer knockout, a lost high loop, a kinked hose. Check the filter, then the route out. July 25, 2026 · 6 min read
- Viking Oven Still Locked Hours Later in Boston — Latch, Fuse or Sensor? A Viking oven holds its door shut until the control reads the cavity as cool, so a lock that outlasts the evening is normal before it is a fault — unless the display has gone dark, which points at lost power or an opened thermal fuse rather than the latch. Asked on the phone
Before you book
What does the $95 service call include?
The visit, the diagnosis and the explanation: gas pressure and spark where it is a cooking appliance, temperatures and defrost behaviour where it is refrigeration, fill and drain behaviour on a dishwasher. It is credited against the repair if you approve one, and it is the whole bill if you do not.
Can you get into a Seaport building or a Navy Yard conversion?
Usually, with notice. Those buildings run on booked freight lifts and dock windows, and a few will only let a contractor in through a management office. Tell us the building when you call and we will make the arrangements part of the appointment rather than a surprise on the day.
The range came with the condo. Does that matter?
Only for the model number. Look for the rating plate behind the kick panel or on the frame under the door — it tells us the platform, the gas type and which burner assembly is fitted, which is most of the diagnosis before anyone arrives.
Do you work on the ventilation as well as the range?
We diagnose what the hood is doing where it affects the appliance underneath — a professional burner and a starved duct run are frequently the same complaint. Duct alterations inside a building are a different trade and we will say so.
Is there a form to fill in?
No. There is a phone number, answered 24/7, and a booking page. Nothing on this site collects an address or an email.
